Marquees have a unique atmosphere. Installed temporarily for a single occasion, they are a space apart from normal life, providing a certain specialness for an event.

Marquees are also very flexible. Anything is possible in a marquee: long, square, L-shaped, romantic, classical, themed... you can put your own special character on your event in any way you choose, unlike some fixed venues where the decorations can be limited and the size and shape are fixed.

In addition, hiring a marquee gives you the opportunity to welcome guests to your wedding reception, possible wedding breakfast the next morning and gives you the opportunity to party to 6am if you wish. A marquee is also ideal if you would like to hold the ceremony in your own garden.

There is no right style for decorating wedding marquees. A classic white look with silk lining is always popular, with colour being added through table centrepieces or floral arrangements. Whatever style you select for the reception, we can transform the atmosphere with lighting effects for an evening celebration.

We take our weddings seriously. Therefore we have the experience in problems that can arise so we take particular care to ensure:

  • that the marquee can accommodate the proposed numbers
  • that the chosen size will work with the layout
  • that the layout and position of the marquee will function with caterers and catering tents
  • electrical work is safe and that enough power is available on site for all electrical equipment

We are happy to work with you to ensure the right decisions are made to give you the wedding you have always wished for.

Careful planning of the marquee layout is particularly important for weddings, when the impression you want to give your guests needs to be absolutely right.

Things you may like to consider include:

  • setting aside an area for reception or buffet tables
  • the position of the bridal table so everyone can see
  • the position of the cake table - a popular photographic spot
  • access for catering staff
  • should the dance floor be central or to one side

To help you establish the best layout, we will provide you with some floor plans showing different table sizes and different dance floor positions. This allows you to test out different layouts for the maximum effect, and gives you a good starting point for seating plans. Our experience is at your disposal when considering the layout options.
